Speed up the job of spreading fertiliser!

For years I have spread fertiliser by hand. With only a couple of acres, I filled a bucket with fertiliser pellets and threw it across the field as I walked up and down, as though throwing chicken feed. As I’m sure you can imagine, this takes ages and I end up with aching arms and shoulders from carrying the bucket around the field (fertiliser pellets are heavy).

This year I decided that I’d had enough and couldn’t face this job any more! I couldn’t afford to buy expensive machines and I don’t have a tractor to attach them too anyway, but I do have a four wheel drive and a determination to find ideas to save me time and money. So, I started looking on

and found a great eBayer that was selling fertiliser spreaders for lawn tractors / ATV’s for just £49.99 including postage! I bought one and boy, what a difference, it took me less than half the time to drive around the field and was completely painless, so it gets my vote!
