About Equine-Ideas... Meet my horses.
Equine-Ideas has developed from my life long love of horses. I have always looked after my horses on a DIY livery basis; constantly on a tight budget (after all, this is an expensive hobby!). As such I am regularly looking for ways to reduce costs and improve facilities without the need to take out a second mortgage!
I am lucky enough to rent a small yard close to my home, where I look after three mares...
POPPY
My Oldenburg mare bought for Riding Club activities (mainly dressage). She is a dream, so long as you understand that she is somewhat backward, lives in her own little world and without the help of a rider, generally moves like a camel! That said, she has a wonderful temperament and I wouldn’t be without her.
LITTLE POPPY
My adorable miniature Shetland pony is an absolute treasure. She’s fantastic with even the youngest children and having been outgrown by my niece and nephew, now gives pleasure to lots of children at
pony parties.
KATIE
The matriarch, Katie is an aged Irish TB. She has been in the family since she was 5 years old, bought for my sister. She has evented, competed at dressage and all riding club activities; has produced a beautiful foal (Tino) and although now in her twenties, is still a feisty hack.
